I've had two friends eventually develop schizophrenia. One of them apparently had it his entire life but I never knew about it whereas the other developed symptoms around the age of 13 or so. In both cases, they became overweight once it was diagnosed and they were offered medication. The medication itself increases your appetite immensely.
