Most of the immigrants I met were Eastern European rather than Mohammedans. They seemed kind of like Germany's Mexicans in the sense that they are pretty happy to be on that side of the border. I don't think that makes them necessarily like Germans, but they are well aware they are better off and actively trying to get their family and friends in.

I wouldn't say they became German, but they mostly spoke at least 3 languages including German and English.
