Total Recall (2012) is better than Total Recall (1990)

submitted by Conspirologist to movies 1.9 yearsJul 2, 2023 09:32:53 ago (+2/-7)     (movies)

Total Recall (2012) is better than Total Recall (1990) absurd kike junk. In Total Recall (1990) we have degenerates fighting the elite, also the fake Schwarzenegger's wife is married to somebody from the elite. It's an obvious degenerate absurd plot that doesn't allow to be taken seriously.

Total Recall (2012) has a well written plot. Instead of degenerates we have normal people fighting the elite, and the fake wife is just a clone bitch. After watching this movie, you are allowed to ponder upon the conspiracy seriously, and understand what is going on in real world.

I like them both, but they are completely different movies. But I think the second one is more true to the book.

I don't care about the book. The new movie is not absurd as the first one.

See you at the party Richter!

I didn't even know they made a 2012 Total Recall.
But then I haven't watched movies in many years.

You are obviously not a cinephile. I can recommend the Total Recall (2012). Intelligent plot about conspiracy.

Yes, it does. It's a cameo.

Me too. Stallone's Dredd had an actual plot. The new one is just mindless action.

Disagree - the new dread was better IMO. By a long way, and he kept his helmet in too.

The ABC robots in the Stalone one were cool tho

Hey guys, look at this fuckin' guy ... he's a *cinephile*! His opinions on movies (not fucking film, and definitely not cinema, let's not be pretentious) are more valid, better considered, and more thoughtful because he calls himself a cinephile. That means he can judge movies and separate the pretentious artistic crap from the rest of the lot because he understands how cinema is an artistic form. Never mind that the remake was humorless, visually dark (the way all dystopian movies look these days), and suffered from ponderously slow dialogue from cut-out characters, Cinephilologist says it's better because he says so.

Inbreed JEW tries to spam ad hominem without any facts. Obviously never posted about movies.

Thin-skinned little fag. Looks like I hit a nerve. And I never post about movies because 99% of them are politically correct, degenerate crap, and more recent movies (last 20 years or so) are actively demoralizing. Why would anyone watch them, and further, why would anyone think about posting about this crap?

You would prefer the new one, autistic incel faggot retard.

The short story it’s based on, by Phillip K. Dick, is even better still. It’s called “We’ll remember everything for a price”.

[ - ] Lost_In_The_Thinking 3 points 1.9 yearsJul 2, 2023 13:45:33 ago (+3/-0)

I hate to be a pedant, but it's titled "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale". And it's superior to either of the movies.

Thanks, that helps others find it.

And thank you, I'm glad you took it in the spirit it was meant. You're probably like me, a fan and reader of PKD. Not a lot of people are aware of him these days (he died 40 years ago) and he wasn't especially popular in the US, but he had and still has a wide fan base overseas. He wrote a LOT of novels and short stories, mostly because he seemed to have graphomania and was impoverished, plus he had pharmaceutical assistance, so the quality of his work varies a lot, and sometimes his titles and his character names were pretty lame ("Galactic Pot-Healer"? Huh?), but his ideas were unique and were genuinely inspired.

At least that's the way I see him. I'm glad you enjoy his work.

Your character assessment is pretty accurate from what I’ve read. I must admit that I suspect there is more going on due to the prescient nature of some of his work. Always cool to encounter a fellow fan.

As far as I remember, PKD story didn't have the fake wife. The fake wife is very important to help people understand the danger Jewish clones represent.
