Walt Disney comics helped me as a kid

submitted by Conspirologist to TellTalk 10 monthsJul 2, 2023 09:13:45 ago (+4/-4)     (TellTalk)

My parents gave me a subscription to Disney comics. Thanks to their comics I was able to have serious conversations in 1st grade already. I'm sorry for modern kids, because after Disney went woke, their comics are useless.

Me too .. the Donald Duck / Uncle Scrooge series more so, which I still believe was at that time in the mid to late 1950's some of the best, most progressive children's entertainment ever produced, I never warmed to Mickey Mouse quite so much while the overt bestiality in "Lady and the Tramp" meant I tended to avoid that series. Edit.

Agree. Donald and Scrooge stories were way more informative.
