And OP begins to gain perspective as to why DVD's are quietly fading away for streaming services.

I Dled a lot of Mr Roger’s Neighborhood for female friend with a 10 year-old. That and Inspector Gadget and other relatively wholesome stuff.

Why not just turn the TV off? Thousands of generations grew up without TV.

Go back to the 80s with forgotten cartoons like Silverhawks, Voltron, MASK, Inspector Gadget and Thundercats.

Raised by TV, commendable.

Any of y'all remember "The Phantom Tollbooth"? It's free on kiketube right now, so I figured I'd give it a watch. It's quality children's entertainment. The general theme is that education of the use of words and numbers can give you the power to overcome any problem.

Great book. Didn't occur to me there might be a film adaptation.

All awesome shows. You forgot the original ninja turtles though... if u want the tor, just ask.
Also rockos modern life was a great show.
Ren and Stimpy seemed good when I was a kid, but the artist is kriscafalusi or whatever is pedo scum and it's not very rewatchable.

Are you talking about the live action Ninja Turtles movie from 1990 or???

Because that was a good one. I have it on a dvd.

Ren and Stimpy was the vanguard of the "Gross up, close up" trend in cartoons. It was unsettling then and unsettling now. Rocko also did that a little bit, but it was much more humorous than revolting.

The original 'Turtles was great, but IMO it is best left as a nostalgic memory; tried rewatching it some years back and the puns were painful to the soul.

I really liked an obscure 90s cartoon called Young Robin Hood. It was published by Hanna-Barbera but thankfully not animated by them. Unfortunately, the VHS I had only had four episodes and the show only reaired once more, years later on Boomerang. Never got another physical release, much less a full one. It's not up for official stream anywhere, but there is a guy on youtube that uploaded every episode in pretty crummy quality, but at least I finally got to see more of it. It's well-written, animated, and has few stinker episodes. Wholesome.

What's your opinion on Beavis and Butthead?

[ - ] MuricaPersonified 3 points 2.0 yearsJul 1, 2023 18:55:05 ago (+3/-0)

It was absolutely retarded, but it had some enjoyable, even based moments. Mike Judge's work in general seems to be like that.
