my coworker overcomplicated the crap out of a task

The task was simple: gray out a button. My coworker was trying to "help", and turned a simple task of graying out a button into a massive call with 6+ people because he's convinced it's something else, that has spanned 2 fucking hours. Literally the guy is pissing me off right now, and i feel like fuming over this. It's a 2 minute task, and it's been dragged out to 2 fucking hours and more into a new task/epic because why?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Yeah the guy talks for hours, and sometimes you just want to tell him get to the point already. In this case, the goal was very very simple, but he morphed like 3 other tasks into this task, based off a hunch. Even the PM involved was like bruh? So now what should have been a simple fix, has become a dump all this other crap on OP

We occasionally get clients who like to be "hands on" with their remodel because they're "handy"/know fuck all about what they're doing. I have straight up taken the tools out of fuckers' hands before.
