If you don't want to go to the site and risk cancer, I have done this for you.
More than a few subs have switched sub settings to NSFW as those subs then not only don't show for users who haven't opted in and people who aren't logged in but it also cuts off ad revenue on those subs. Other subs have removed all sub rules except those that the site itself imposes allowing some users to do things like post photos of their literal assholes in some of the default subs and make it to the front page (fucking god level shit, that one, honestly). Others are just taking on themes (like /steam is now about literal steam, whatever this Oliver dude crap is about, and so on.)
As a result, admins are now going in and unmoderating entire teams, locking those accounts, flipping the subs to "restricted" mode, un-NSFW toggling them, nuking posts and comments, replacing those mods. As of this moment, there are more than a few "unmoderated" popular subs and users are swarming the sub-reddit request sub to request them as they are unmoderated.
Comments are juicy, crying is abundant, powermods are tripping.
Id like to point out that just like with twitter, there is deep involvement of the CIA, FBI, and other deep state orgs in reddit. Count on it.
They use radicalized citizens to do their dirty work while maintaining plausible deniability. Its called Zersetszung. But the radicals who they subsidized have their own ideas. Unlike their handlers they believe in this crazy bullshit. This is a richly deserved backfire for the most cynical manipulators in society.
1. She was doxxed. Hard. 2. She had an account on Steemit. At the time, registration required a real, live telephone number to verify identity. Steemit runs on a blockchain and isn't really capable of being "edited". Do with that info as you please.
Haven't heard that word in a hot minute. And that is exactly what the intelligence agencies, both foreign and domestic, have been engaged in domestically, on a massive scale. Unregulated. Unsupervised, and completely without limits of law.
This is just a tiny peak into a sliver of their fuckery online, backfiring enormously, as the regime's supporter's eat their own.
"The Stasi redefined the military term Zersetzung (attrition or corrosion) to name their harassment tactics: the aim was to disrupt the working of groups and the lives of individuals to such a degree that their activism became ineffective, or more preferably, ceased altogether."
Suspect name, so take this with several grams of salt.

Exactly. I keep bringing up Zersetszung. Nobody seems to get it.
Partially because its such a foreign-appearing concept, not just the word itself, but the mental scope of the idea encapsulated in a single word.
The closest we have is 'gaslighting', and in part thats been used semi-effectively, but its still uncommon enough that people don't comprehend the scale or magnitude of evil. Neither do I believe I'm exaggerating when I call it evil. It's outright, in your face, pure Evil.
First they came for Niggers, but I didn't even know about it, so I kept browsing. Then they came for FatPeopleHate, but I wasn't a subscriber, so I kept shitposting. Then they shut down Coontown and I said, "Fuck this place!" and went to Voat.
All I can say is I'm glad these mods are going to lose power. Of course some other shitty mods who are willing to toe the line will take their place, but at least these manchildren will have their toys taken away from them.
I am hoping in the future that either a pure decentralized platform emerges (doesn't even require a centralized starting place, like even the torrent clients need) or that some form of my ideal site emerges.
My ideal site would require some small payment (yep, not a good start, but anonymous payments might be doable) to keep bot creators a little less enthusiastic, but instead of fake points by voting, a contributor could earn "next months payment" through posts and comments.
For example, suppose it costs $4/month (just a random small number) to join, but every day each user gets to assign 5-10 "payment" points to good content. Every "point" is worth something like 5cents. And each user can accumulate a set amount of "payment" per day from other people's votes - say 25cents.
After 15 days of good content points, the next month is paid for. The next payment would be just the $4, minus any payment points awarded during the month. I would not like to see carryover points, just because that is a metric that would most likely be abused.
Moderation could be to just keep the true spammers limited in posts through some mechanism - but the payment system should make people less likely to just shit on the place.
The already exists. It's called "Steemit" and is based on a blockchain. OG Voat She was on it. Funny thing is at the time you needed to verify your identity by providing a phone number.

I looked at Steemit, and it immediately comes off as a site that can be gamed, and that doesn't sound good to me.
I'm not looking at the rewards part as being the main aspect of my ideal site, but rather the monthly cost aspect that will keep bots away, and keep people from making tons of alts, etc.

These are the same power mods that have been suppressing free speech and caring water for the official narrative for years. 100% all of them have deleted comments or banned users with no warning for "covid-19 disinformation".
I left Reddit back when trump was running for the presidency. Call me crazy but I just want free speech and Reddit absolutely is the polar opposite of that. That’s like they’ll call this website right wing, it’s not though. You can be as liberal as you want on this website and people will pick apart your nonsensical argument. It’s a beautiful thing. Also I identify as a black lesbian
