The languages thing is kind of funny. Brits still go on about how Queen Elizabeth I could speak six languages, but your average Dutch or Norwegian person can probably speak around that number of languages too. English and Spanish speakers view being able to speak anything but your native tongue as pretty impressive, but in other parts of Europe being able to speak 5 or 6 languages is almost expected.
