Define largest. Highest ownership per capita? Maybe. I think whites as a group owned the most slaves overall in the US. I think a small number of white plantation owners owned the most slaves for the longest time. I think blacks had high slave ownership because they were buying their relatives out of slavery, not because they loved having free black servants.
Most whites did not benefit from slavery but were harmed by it. I dont see any point in minimizing whites’ participation in it though. Jews offer vice. Whites often buy in to it. Nothing new under the sun.
