It is always good for interview practice at any rate. I find that my first few interviews are usually kind of off, until I get in the rhythm of them again.

Yep. They posted a salary budget that was way off. Way too high for the position probably to get candidates in. I guess I'll just hold them to it. If they actually want to pay me that then I guess we will do that.

I would add that turning down jobs is actually good practice too. Learning how to say no is a valuable skill.

But if the job would advance you for a little while, do what you need to.

Employers have no loyalty to anyone other that trannies and faggots now, so don't worry about leaving them high and dry.

Just mention you have some hobby you know they would not like, if you will realize it's a mistake during interview. I did that few times and worked nicely. Only make sure they will hate it :) I once almost got in trouble picking a wrong one, I said I'm knitting in my free time, thinking that will work as a repellent, but dude got totally excited, so be careful out there.

Or just turn them down. Or tell them the truth. Or both.

Don't just lie like a whore.

[ - ] x0x7 [op] 5 points 1.9 yearsJun 15, 2023 18:01:37 ago (+5/-0)

It's a phone interview. I guess I could have planned better.

Companies and interviewers don't realise that they too are being interviewed.

[ - ] LiberalsAreMental 2 points 1.9 yearsJun 15, 2023 20:30:57 ago (+2/-0)

Just be honest about that going in.

[ - ] ToNigIsToNog 2 points 1.9 yearsJun 15, 2023 19:28:41 ago (+2/-0)

super valuable thing to do. I keep up with job trends, salaries, and regularly interview even if I have no desire to jump ship. you ain't jbje what's out there if you don't look.

[ - ] FluffyBunnySlippers 2 points 1.9 yearsJun 15, 2023 18:57:49 ago (+2/-0)

Do the interview and if you get an offer throw out a number that you would do the job for. Probably a really big number. Salary negotiation is another skill to practice and if they say yes, you might consider it.

$10,000 per hour, or you'll struggle to do it without me.

[ - ] Peleg 2 points 1.9 yearsJun 15, 2023 18:54:25 ago (+2/-0)

Tell them you have to have more. More everything. More money than they want to pay, start with vacation, start with insurance and whatever retirement plan they offer, and of course you will need money to move!
I mean if you don't really want the job make an outrageous offer. Then if they agree you at least have a great deal.

Is it in the leisure industry? Then:
In a word, pleasure. Like, your pleasure in other people's leisure.
Fuck it up good and proper.

[ - ] lord_nougat 2 points 1.9 yearsJun 15, 2023 18:31:22 ago (+2/-0)

Yes.

Of course they ended up hiring me.

Ben Palmer has some good tips. "How recent was it?"

[ - ] TheGreatWar 0 points 1.9 yearsJun 16, 2023 11:11:25 ago (+0/-0)

Yea, but only a phone interview. I wouldn't waste time in person. I spammed a bunch of places at a job fair and got a call. I couldn't actually talk at the time so I arranged a call back, but did some research first. When the guy called he started off with a "why do you want to work here" question. "I'm not sure I do" was my response. That made him curious so we continued talking for about 20 minutes and I explained all of my concerns. The dude seemed genuine so I didn't mind. We ended the call wishing each other luck in our searches.

Demand a high wage. Over exaggerate your skills. Decide beforehand the amount if money required for you to start

[ - ] usedoilanalysis 0 points 1.9 yearsJun 15, 2023 22:22:25 ago (+0/-0)

If you're going to relocate it's fine, but if you have to travel back and forth you should really stay in one time zone.

Unless your job is constantly taking you across time zones. Jet lag is no joke, takes at least 2 days to get adjusted.

[ - ] Breeder 0 points 1.9 yearsJun 15, 2023 21:34:31 ago (+0/-0)

I'm my own boss so I really enjoyed the interview.

[ - ] Sector7 0 points 1.9 yearsJun 15, 2023 21:16:47 ago (+0/-0)

I've never wanted to be a wage slave, so never went with hat in hand to beg for a "job". Did have a few jobs as a kid after talking to the guy. If you beg someone for a job, they're definitely not going to respect you.
