There is a huge difference in the number of fatties in America as compared to Europe and I want to know why. What's the biggest difference (poll).

submitted by Aze to whatever 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 11:36:19 ago (+13/-2)     (whatever)

Something nasty is in our food here in America. Soon as you get to Europe or Japan the problem seems to disappear.

The problem is I can't exactly pin it down.

Obviously there is the massive problem with sugar and corn syrup in everything.
Next on the list of suspects is seed oils, followed closely by soy fucking with everyone's hormones, thus contributing to weight gain. Maybe add a dash of the American "clean your plate" philosophy, but I honestly doubt that's a major player. Maybe eating out at restaurants to much?

Not one of these things seems like it is exclusive to the US. Japan gets a ton more soy than we ever would, but they do use a lot less sugar, no idea on the rest. As for europe, I honestly don't know enough to be sure, but I wouldn't expect their food to be all that different from what we've got here in the States.

Personally, I avoid soy like the plague, and I've (almost) completely cut out seed oils. I won't touch the corn syrup water, and since I learned they've started vaxxing beef and pork I don't eat out anymore. I've cooked virtually all my own meals now for a long time and at least half of those are meat + sauteed or grilled veg (asparagus, brussel sprouts, sugar snap peas, and broccoli are some of my favorites) + some buttered toast, and sometime fresh mushrooms. Admittedly, I do like rice and pasta, which I normally eat with a homemade garlic parmesan cream sauce. 95% of the time I stay away from the goyslop (like chips or frozen garbage, etc).

I'm 6'3 and naturally skinny.

All that and it's still a battle to maintain my weight! I've had to get draconian lately just to stop the slow slide into landwhale status!

If anyone else has any more ideas as to what I big difference between the States and Europe is then I've love to know. Self improvement is a continual process, and any information that helps me to fight back against this increasingly fucked system is invaluable.

I think it is a combination of Al the above, plus others.

I work for a worldwide medical company, and I will say that diabetes is EXPLODING worldwide. So it isn't just America that is having issues with food.

This. Obesity is increasing in China and Japan too. Corporations are intentionally creating the most addictive, cheapest, most convenient foods because they want to sell the most. We are basically eating the “crack” version of food when we eat processed meals and snacks.

If you think about it, people are brain numbed and 100% sheep. And it's because of fast foods. "Crack" version of food? Absolutely. Also, the mind control version of foods as well. Stop eating that shit and stop allowing kids to eat it.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is the use of endocrine-disrupting and xenoestrogenic pesticides and herbicides that are banned elsewhere (especially the EU.)
Glyphosate and Atrazine come to mind, but I've seen others mentioned here and there.

When I moved to California from Pennsylvania, one of the culture shocks was the lack of disgustingly obese land whales.

Pretty much everything is unequally distributed, including types of people. There are fat regions. There are corrupted English regions. There are nigger regions. Know your criteria and be selective.

This read like a dating profile that is sick of the game and wanted to air personal grievances.

Fucker is 6'3. Getting overweight at that height requires work.

[ - ] Aze [op] 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 13:35:45 ago (+0/-0)

Does lifting a fork to my gob count as work? As I get older seem like that's all it takes!

Ok maybe I'm exaggerating, but once upon a time I could eat like a horse and not gain a thing. I was permanently 175lb. God I miss being able to eat like that.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 19:22:47 ago (+0/-0)

Yeah, getting older will do the trick. I remember working hard enough that 10,000 calories a day wasn't enough and I would lose weight.

Now that I'm older? Obviously don't work that hard, but I can't just eat pizza and burgers anymore. I actually have to pay attention to what I eat.

At least I'm used to it now and have long since learned how to cook well. It's disturbing watching otherwise normal military friends get out, hit that age, and absolutely explode in weight.

Fun side effect though, I used to be middle of the pack fitness-wise(for military dudes anyways). Now? 8/10 times I walk into a room I'm the fittest one there. It's a bit odd to realize it.

Not really. It just requires self neglect.

The additives and pesticides allowed in flour and bread (AND BEER). That’s the number one thing that makes Europeans bloat up within a couple months when they get here. Potassium bromate. It's a suspected carcinogen that's banned for human consumption in Europe, China and India, but not in the United States. Glyphosate - it’s in all your grains and overpriced garbage “craft” beer in the US - not so in Europe.

The Japanese have more brewed soybean (sauce) which destroys the estrogen properties of soybean, whereas the US has lots of government subsidized (yes the FDA knows that it’s unhealthy and they really do want to shorten your lifespan with) soybean oil, which is a garbage oil and entirely different beast; you can use massive amounts of soy sauce to add salt and flavor to your dishes without it being a problem.

The seed oils are also a problem - highly processed and cancer causing. I hear that sunburns are the result of seed oils excreted out through your skin that literally cook you, whereas animal fats don’t go through that same process. Sunscreen and lotion is also crap that you shouldn’t be putting on your body. The only oils you need are olive for salads and quick fry - and peanut (or avacado) for higher temp deep fry - but pork fat or other animal tallows can be substituted for EVERYTHING and you will be much better off for doing so.

The lazy American lifestyle is also a contributor - people here drive everywhere and rush to be the first in line to sit on their asses and consume more junk food. More walking and less “drive” to hurry for meaningless tasks and events in Europe. Larger portions and multiple meals a day (larger intake of all the previously mentioned garbage) doesn’t help. You don’t need to eat like a power lifter if you aren’t in the gym lifting hundreds of pounds at the break of dawn every morning!

Sugar is also a killer. The biggest similarity between the US and China is the amount of sugar added to cooking and food products. I don’t know if this contributes to the cankle phenomenon…

Now this is the kind of info I was hoping for. Cheers to you mate.

I want to know more about Potassium Bromate. I know I'd of heard of it before and I suspect that it is whats causing me to get sleepy after eating bread or pasta! Something about how it reacts with the thyroid, I can't remember just now. It's in every single "enriched" flour, which is all of them, at least all of them that I've seen in the store.

I'm already making almost all my own stuff at home now, but bread has been a hold out because it's a massive pain in the ass to make, and the flour I'd buy is the same garbage that the bread factory uses so there is no difference.

What I'm asking is how does one get bromate free flour and/or bread.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 19:31:27 ago (+0/-0)

What I'm asking is how does one get bromate free flour and/or bread.

Not at the grocery store, I've looked. Bread is something I've thought about, and a bread-kneading device would be mandatory.

I don't use bread much, and it tends to go bad long before I can use the entire thing. Being able to make custom bread would be great, even with the flour available to us. I'd love to make a sourdough or a nice rye.

Something I've done is get set up to make my own beef jerky. It is amazing. No sugar, no stickiness, no soy, no seed oils, all the flavors I want, and I actually know I'm using decent meat.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 19:25:44 ago (+0/-0)

you can use massive amounts of soy sauce

Mmmm, have you seen some of the cheap in-house brands? I'm not sure they even properly ferment it. I get the good stuff because I don't use a lot of it, but it's something to consider, especially as things get ever more expensive.

[ - ] Cantaloupe 3 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 11:58:59 ago (+3/-0)*

It's the corn syrup

Heart disease used to be rare, and they put corn syrup in the food.

If you plot life expectancy and animal size/heart beats per second you'll see s straight line with smaller animals dying sooner.

With two exceptions: only naked mole rats and humans

Why? It's because fats get stored in our cells, and historically humans are mostly animal fats, which are only oxidize at higher temps

Low temp oxidizing fats decrease your lifespan and every bizarre new thing they put in the food supply sickens people

[ - ] Bonlio99 3 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 11:43:50 ago (+3/-0)

It’s the food. As soon as you cross the border into Canada people are 50% size of obese americans

[ - ] beece 2 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 12:25:00 ago (+2/-0)

I know 2 women who get sick eating bread (it's the gluten they say), but when they go to Europe they can eat it with abandon and not get sick.

[ - ] NaturalSelectionistWorker 1 point 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 13:08:17 ago (+1/-0)

Yeah, I stopped buying bread not because it fucks with me personally (though I've been overweight since childhood when I ate a lot more bread) but because I've heard so much about what it does to people now. All the added chemicals and heavily processed seed oils are fucking bread up

[ - ] Aze [op] 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 13:38:32 ago (+0/-0)

I've read a lot of stuff about bread that scares me as well. I've also noted that I get inexplicably tired after I eat bread or pasta, and no I don't think its a sugar crash.

[ - ] Moravian 2 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 12:17:55 ago (+2/-0)

It's the lifestyle. If you're fat people will say it to you, especially people you haven't seen for awhile. like "wow you're looking nice and round" or "looks like you've been eating well"
There's pressure to stay fit, Also people generally don't watch as much TV and go out more. Also the food is better especially the more east you go.

[ - ] Thyhorrorcosmic103 2 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 12:05:25 ago (+2/-0)

Cultural. We really have it too good and have very bad habits.

Tfw living in a majority non-White shithole run by jews is "having it too good"

[ - ] Thyhorrorcosmic103 1 point 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 12:57:50 ago (+1/-0)

Wasn’t always that way.

[ - ] Conspirologist 2 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 11:43:39 ago (+2/-0)*

It's because of food mainly. Europe has very straight food standards. You can't sell junk in Europe like in US. You can have a full, healthy meal in Europe for €13, all included. Also, sugar limits are way lower in Europe. The kikes in US are killing people with degenerate food.

[ - ] GloryBeckons 0 points 10 monthsJun 13, 2023 21:25:10 ago (+0/-0)

You may be surprised to find out that the ingredients of processed foods are often different between Europe and the US. Even the exact same product from the exact same brand.

Take a jar of "Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise", for example. Same brand, same product, same label. Same everything... almost.

USA: SOYBEAN OIL, WATER, WHOLE EGGS AND EGG YOLKS, DISTILLED VINEGAR, SALT, SUGAR, LEMON JUICE CONCENTRATE, CALCIUM DISODIUM EDTA (USED TO PROTECT QUALITY), NATURAL FLAVORS.

UK: Rapeseed Oil (78%), Water, Pasteurised Free Range Egg & Egg Yolk (7.9%), Spirit Vinegar, Salt, Sugar, Flavouring, Lemon Juice Concentrate, Antioxidant (Calcium, Disodium EDTA)

Also, in Europe the jars are made of glass instead of plastic.

Both plastic and soy are known sources of xenoestrogens. Excess estrogen makes you fatten. Excess adipose tissue produces more estrogen via aromatase. A vicious cycle.

[ - ] PhantomXLII 1 point 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 12:52:30 ago (+2/-1)

Funny you didn't put the option to name the actual cause: eating more calories than you expend through the day.

How fucking interesting.

[ - ] SumerBreeze 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 14:45:47 ago (+0/-0)

Yea, DRIVING everywhere to be the first to SIT on your ass and STUFF the gullet with more GARBAGE should be the correct answer.

[ - ] Metanoid 1 point 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 12:10:33 ago (+1/-0)

In the 1980s they started replacing sugar with high fructose corn syrup in the US in pretty much everything. From what I have read, the pancreas can't cope with the type of sugar in HFCS and as a result it causes rapid obesity.

You don't find HFCS in anything in Europe, even imported products from the US. We get the sugar versions of the products.

[ - ] ilikeskittles 1 point 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 11:57:34 ago (+1/-0)

All above.

Are any of you faggots doing time resteicted eating. I think there would be a massive benefit to people doig a 12 : 12 regimen at the least.

[ - ] Terminalelektroshock 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 17:54:58 ago (+0/-0)

The world is quickly becoming obese. Even China has a fat kid problem, except China has banned mukbang shit and forces families with fatties to send them to fat "camp". They have to eat their dog and cat burgers without fries or cheese.

[ - ] Aze [op] 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 19:20:34 ago (+0/-0)

Mukbang has got to be the most degenerate filth I've see outside the sexual stuff.

Absolutely disgusting.

I'd approve the death penalty for people who make troughing videos.

[ - ] AngryWhiteKeyboardWarrior 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 17:32:14 ago (+0/-0)

Too many calories, not enough exercise.

Sit on your ass all day, watching TV, at the computer, looking at your phone etc... Eating easily accessible high calorie, high sugar, snack foods, drinking soda, then you get some fast food which has more than your entire daily caloric needs in one meal, for dinner... You can't be assed to go outside and exercise, because you'd rather stay inside with the air conditioning or heating, and exercise takes effort...

When you get groceries, you skip the healthy foods and things that take time to cook, and get quick and easy meals, snacks etc instead. Ain't nobody got time fo dat.

I reckon that pretty much sums up why people are so fat.

[ - ] PostWallHelena 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 15:17:14 ago (+0/-0)

We have more niggers and spics. They are way fatter.

[ - ] bobdole9 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 14:53:30 ago (+0/-0)

Part 1 - overeating
Part 2 - eating the goyslop and drinking the goyslurp
Part 3 - get off your ass and do something
Part 4 - eat meat
Part 5 - hydrate and proper sleep

To varying degrees, hamplanets fail in these five categories. I'm likely missing other points.

Jews.

[ - ] sarkbear 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 12:46:32 ago (+0/-0)

Portion sizes are more reasonable outside the USA.

It's hard to go someplace here and not get 3x the food you need.

[ - ] MaryXmas 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 12:33:12 ago (+0/-0)

Gmos! If you engineer a plant to grow real big, real fast, what do you think happens when the population eats it? But all of the other stuff too.

[ - ] Spaceman84 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 12:23:01 ago (+0/-0)

American food is cheaper than the rest of the world. This is partly due to weaker regulations allowing factory made food to include garbage ingredients. Quantity over quality. The Japs absolutely could not afford to eat American size meals.

Similarly we drive less efficient vehicles because our gas is cheaper than Europe’s or Japan’s.

Americans love excess. It’s a pervasive phenomenon. In other words, it’s just gluttony.

[ - ] Portmanure 0 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 11:42:51 ago (+0/-0)

There were plenty of fat people when I lived in England even 15 years ago. I think this needs to be selected for race and understood that Eastern Europeans don't have much to eat. Mexico is wealthier.

And speaking of Mexico... by one metric they surpassed the US as the fattest country on earth. Now imagine how fat they are on THIS side of the border. Seeing hordes of obese Latinas that start spreading out even before age 25 can skew one's perception some.

[ - ] pickingrinninspittin -1 points 10 monthsJun 12, 2023 12:26:25 ago (+0/-1)

The 'obesity epidemic' is the result of a perfect storm of contributing factors. You can knock out highlights all day long but any attempt to understand it more fully is going to require much more effort than throwing up a poll that allows only a single choice.

This is just a lazy attempt at appearing/aspiring to be smart. No one is impressed. Stop it.
