I went to a grad party at a relatives house and it dawns on me how incredibly unsociable I am. There was some serious money at that party and that had a little to do with it but, I really had no interest in speaking with any of the people there. It was like they are living their life on easy mode, bankers, Drs., lawyers, etc., while recreationally golfing and then I am living my life on hard mode. I still have a white collar job but I slaughter my own chickens, grow my own vegetables and chop my own firewood.

I've made alot of bad decisions and not lived the best life. When I am forced into social situations I am fighting panic attacks and the baffled confusion of what is even the purpose of this gathering. What do they get out of it and why don't I get the same thing?
How to connect and be part of the whole has eluded me my whole life and it is a lonely, bitter place.
It is the perennial question- would I be more satisfied with my life had I made different decisions. That's exactly how I understand my acrophobia, fear of flying, and my two other phobias: situations or things beyond my control. As for the fear of heights, it's what happens when you do a belly flop from 1 story up as a young kid and bust bones in both arms and get a gnarly set of bruises to boot. All of my phobias are rooted in such childhood trauma.

You are probably better off than most of those you are talking about! The bankers, drs, lawyers, etc that I know are in debt over their eyeballs! They will Never be debt free. They will end up leaving a huge problem for their kids to have to deal with. They believe that they have to "keep up with the Joneses". They believe they have to "appear" to be wealthy. So they get themselves in debt way more than they can truly afford, and Stay in debt their whole life, just so that other people will Think they are successful and wealthy. I used to be very anti social. I noticed in high school. So I started going to parties and talk more. You learn more about yourself speaking to others. I am glad because now I feel comfortable talking to anyone and have had great advice handed down. I'll also not put up with shit anymore and call out things that need to be called out.
I was getting so social I started to hate people my age because they were so dull, talking about the same trending shit, I started talking to older guys at dive bars to have a good conversation and get insight. You also hear local tips and politics.
I also began bartending at 25 and it was a great time. It was higher end so rich people were usually happy and the girls you work with makes it a banger. That helped me be higher end social and better manners at the same time.
A lot of people aren't worth talking to anymore but it is definitely an acquired skill to work on.
Now I'm in tech and the people who rise up are the social ones like me I'm a top tech because I speak up and express my designs. I had a knach for it anyways but I definitely speak up because of my social history.
I have a few friends that I've had for most of my life. Lucky that way, I guess. I have another few friends I've made through school and work that lasted. Then I have my family. That's it.
I wish I had developed more of a community. Moving house every 2 years or so and regions every 4 years or so has not helped.
Yes,you're supposed to be leading the way for others. I'd start by making predictions without naming the jew. Once a few come true,they'll start wondering how you know. Break 'em in slow. Start connecting some dots,see how many they connect themselves. Take it slow and easy.
Once they're good and ready,you drop who's behind it all and wait for it all to click into place. They might throw a fit. They might walk out. Just give 'em time and they'll start to see it in everyday life just like you and I do.
