Invite your mother over at Christmas, take no shit. You're in charge now.

Why should he keep contact with his primary abuser?

[ - ] KyleIsThisTall 3 points 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 15:48:50 ago (+3/-0)

Exactly. One of my siblings just died. I have spoken with my family in well over a decade. I contacted one of the family members who wasn't even school aged at the time I removed myself from the dysfunction. I refuse to contact anyone else or by anything other than untraceable internet communication. I still haven't contacted again past the primary contact. No one knows how I knew my sibling died. This is the 3rd immediate family member who has died since I have become estranged. The one I contacted is finally an adult.

[ - ] TheNoticing 0 points 11 monthsJun 12, 2023 12:47:56 ago (+0/-0)

You don't need to answer, but it must be rough if you have at least a few siblings and don't talk to anyone. Something pretty bad must have happened to not speak to anyone.

Alaska fishery. Free room and board. They pay your airfare. 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, for the entire summer. You can make about 30k. You’ll never eat seafood again.

Google ‘Alaskan fishery + room and board’. It will take you to indeed and simplyhired.

$30,000 doesn’t seem like a lot of money for all that

[ - ] PearofAnguishJuniorManager 0 points 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 14:32:14 ago (+0/-0)

I estimated. I had a friend that did it in 1990’. He made 30k. Not sure what that is in todays money.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 1 point 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 16:22:15 ago (+1/-0)

It's about $70k.

Do what I did mate and walk out .. my grandmother would not give me food at three years of age because "it had not been paid for," by age 15 the abuse, threats and bashings had only gotten worse and I told my mother I was going and got abused by both parents right to the end, my father tried to reconcile with me after he had been diagnosed with leukemia in the early nineties, I told him that before there could be any reconciliation he would have to tell me again about how he "shouldn't have let me live," this was after presenting me with the bodies of aborted twins to dispose of in a backyard incinerator when I was 9 yrs old in 1959 .. get away from 'em.

I got my first job at fifteen and room and board came off that and went to my single mother. It was more than the monthly rent she paid.

Three years later she moved out. Problem solved.

He needs to find his mom a boyfriend.

Whatever anon's problem, his mother's life before he arrived has nothing to do with it. That's all just emotional hyperbole. She's greedy and it's working for her

[ - ] lolxd 6 points 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 09:56:46 ago (+6/-0)

I'd disagree with going to bat for your mom to get a boyfriend. The boyfriend his mother would agree to keep would be whatever cuck enables her bullshit anyway. The dude just needs to get the fuck out, being homeless is a less cruel fate than people put up with.

Camping for long periods is something every man should experience once in their lives. It builds character and teaches valuable lessons in reality and nature.

I moved out at 19 with absolutely nothing. My first apartment was a small room with a mattress on the floor. I did just fine.

If you found out the guy was 30 yrs old, only worked 20 hrs for his minimum wage "two jobs", and did nothing to help around the house, would you still give the same advice?

You're just teaching someone how to be a degenerate: don't take personal responsibility, instead take advantage of free housing, lie, criminally frame, then severe ties with your mother just because she wanted her son to grow up.

Why would she lose the house? Anon didn't say she has no job, he said she hasn't worked MORE THAN ONE JOB AT A TIME like he does now.

I'm willing to bet Anon is a 30 yr old millenium living at home doing the bare minimum, exaggerating about his "two jobs" (one is probably being a twitch streamer), whining with a sob story that his mom is sick of it and wants him to grow up and be an independent man. I'm also willing to bet she offered to pay for his tuition too but he refused to even go to college.

The fact that she inherited the house and had her first car gifted to her is probably only half the story.

Not everyone has parents that aren't narcissists; not everyone has parents that raise and nurture them to be independent people with their own personality, and their own way of looking at the world.

[ - ] redgreenpill 1 point 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 11:12:45 ago (+1/-0)

You'll notice Anon's post left out important details, just enough to paint a sob story. Two jobs means 80 hrs a week or just 10? Was it actually a job interviewed for or are we talking a gamer on youtube? Why did he refuse to go to college and how bad is life at home progressed that she's bringing this up? Was anon expected to pay his own tuition back then or did mom offer to pay it forward like her parents did for her?

The whole story is red flag to me that Anon is a slacker, playing victim, and mom's at her wits end trying to get him to grow up... at his age really the only tool parents have left is charge rent. She clearly doesn't need the money, but it's a great motivator to get her son to face the real world.

[ - ] redgreenpill 0 points 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 08:21:13 ago (+2/-2)

What do you do?? You build a proper work ethic, get a real job, get a place of your own, get a car, then you thank your mother for kicking you in the ass to get you to grow up.

With that generation "I've had to get two jobs" usually means two part-time, minimal wage jobs that amount to 20 hours a week.

She wants him gone.

[ - ] TheNoticing 3 points 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 10:32:08 ago (+3/-0)

No, she doesn't want him to leave, which is why she demands most of his money: if he can't save enough to move out, he has nowhere to go and his primary abuser can continue to feed off his misery.

[ - ] LiberalsAreMental 1 point 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 11:10:35 ago (+1/-0)

She might want him gone, or she might want a reply from him that he can not imagine. Maybe she wants him to say "I'll go back to college."

If she charges you so much you should be able to rent an apartment easily. Move.

[ - ] Trollasaurus 2 points 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 11:32:17 ago (+2/-0)

Apartments and such still require first+lasts, security deposits, insurance fees, etc. Depending on the area, it could cost upwards of $5000 just to secure one. Also, they'll ask for credit score history, and if he has none with no one to co-sign, he's fucked. If he can't get a savings up, he can literally never move out.

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 13:47:40 ago (+0/-0)

Somehow that was never an issue only 15 years ago. I hear about this on youtube. The only credit I could have had was a paid off credit card. Maybe the market was different. It helped that I had a job with a known business in town, but so does this guy.

It wasn't like I ever took out auto or any other kind of loans while living in an apartment. Just used and paid my CC like most ppl.

[ - ] Trollasaurus 2 points 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 14:22:38 ago (+2/-0)

Blame niggers and spics that don't pay rent and have to be evicted. It costs landlords money and time (which means more money) just to evict people that miss their rent.
But also blame Jews and property investors that caused rents and such to go up significantly faster than wages.

Using myself as an example, I moved out when I was 18 like a good boy when I was supposed to. My entry level, out of high school factory job paid me $18/hr (well over minimum wage) and I worked 48 hours a week. It was very comfortable living and gave me a decent savings as well as some pocket money to have fun with.
By the time I was 22 I was working 60-72 hours a week, only getting a pay raise to $19/hr, and my rent had gone from an affordable $750/mo to $1300/mo for the same apartment. At the same time food, gas, etc. also went up 2-3x. Had to move back in with my dad because I couldn't financially support myself anymore.

If I tried to get a new apartment in my area now, I'd need $4,000 in liquid cash between first+lasts, security deposit, and insurance fees. Then I'd be moving into a new place with 0 savings that I might want to have in case something like my car's head gasket decides to pop. (This happened to me recently and if I had been living on my own I actually would not have had the funds to get it repaired)

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 14:53:47 ago (+0/-0)

First, last, and security has been pretty common policy. Just the amount went up because rent went up.

I think if you're in somewhere where it's easier to evict people, the landlords are less vigilant about checking credit and stuff. I was in Houston which, at the time, I'm pretty sure would throw you out in days. I don't know if that's true any more.

If you're still having trouble, I'd try to find a roommate. My first place was a room that I rented half of. Kinda shitty, but it was better than living with my parents. That was, of course, illegal, which presented its own challenges. At one point they tried to evict my roommate, who was on the lease, but when we came to the apartment office they relented as long as I cosigned on the lease. (The guy who was supposed to be living there also was on the lease, but he had fucked off back to Hong Kong where he belongs, temporarily). it was complicated and sketchy illegal)

[ - ] Trollasaurus 0 points 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 15:02:43 ago (+0/-0)

I don't mind living with my dad and as he's gotten older it's good that I've stayed close to home. He runs his own business by himself and he can't handle packing and unpacking his shipments by himself anymore. I also help him make deliveries to customers as needed as well as help with heavy lifting when it comes to some installation matters.

Right now I'm not employed (not for lack of trying) because I used the no-cost living of being with my dad to save money for a trades education in hopes that I can become an electrician. Part time job been a bitch to find though.

I'm in an area with shittons of illegals, spics, etc. and a government that isn't allowed to do shit about it. They'll dig into 3-5 years of credit history before they approve anyone for rent in this area. Too many occasions of renting to 1 spic that moves in 12 illegals that proceed to trash the place.

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 11 monthsJun 8, 2023 16:12:24 ago (+0/-0)

They did that where I lived in California. Actually the apartment I got was remodeled by the Landlord because the previous scumbag(s) destroyed it (it took me so long to find an apartment that I actually saw the place when it was destroyed and waited for them to do this work). Which worked out for me. What did not work for me was living amongst the actual spics.
