well they were, through ridicule and bullying kids who did not fit the social norm were forced to adapt and eventually fit into the social structure of that age group, eventually the kids had societal skills that allowed to them to at least blend in with a greater societal structure and seem "cool" or least fake it till you make it.

Home school kids didn't get that social development and always acted younger in a societal setting, in other words high school aged home schooled kids still had the social skills of a middle school kid, so they always seemed "weird" in contrast.

My kid hasnt been enrolled or on record since 2016-17 .It was a pain in the ass to prove her identity earlier this year so she could get her i.d. to take her ged but it was done. Once she was 18 what can they do about them not having been in school?

Commie cali was trying to pass laws that would introduce ridiculous requirements like commercial fire-suppression systems and safety glass windows. The fire marshal would have to inspect the home and sign-off on it being fit for homeschooling. You can sleep there, no problem. Just don't learn anything while you're there.

I was at the capitol building the day public hearings were being held on the matter. Homeschooling families from all over the state had traveled to have an opportunity to have their voices heard.

The capitol mall (or whatever they call it) in Sactown, as I remember it, is quite large. About a city block.

There were people crowded into the building and a line of folks of varying width, guessing 8-12 people wide on average, stretching down the entrance into the capitol, down to the sidewalk and then around the block.

Even though the bill/measure/wtf did not pass, we saw the writing on the wall and knew that a slightly different version would be introduced again at some point down the road.

That and our oldest kids were nearing the age when they would begin courtship. We looked around at the potential dating pool for our children and found it wanting. Even in our home school group, a majority of the kids were doing the "transtrender" thing and our kids were being ostracized as a result of their non-participation.

I remember clearly one of my daughters, then about age 11, coming to me upset asking why we were making her leave her friends.

On a lark, I decided to try a somewhat direct approach. I had no idea whether she was even remotely interested in the opposite sex at that point and thought it couldn't hurt to try.

While she was standing there, I turned to the computer on the desk and did an image search for "Marlboro Man".

I turned back and showed her the results, to which she replied "OH!", with the unmistakable intonation of female interest. I had found my mark.

Her attitude then changed from "Why do I have to move?" to "I'm gonna get me a Cowboy!"
