The attacker is in hospital in critical condition. He had previously stood trial for murder at 18 years old, but jurors were hung 8-4. Later, in 2011, he was arrested for 1st degree murder during a drug deal, along with 2 others. News reports of how that trial went are difficult to find. Likely he avoided any serious penalty and got off with probation. When he was 16 he was shot in the back of the head. Shame that bullet didn't take.
