Yes, richer older men skew this balance because they have more resources to offer. However, in general a bit tanned very rugged man is the preferred mate for all women because they give them the sense of physical protection. Sexual selection is based generally on physical characteristics that indicate health, vigour, and fertility. Older richer men usually have none of those but a lot of resources to share so they can hoard women leaving not much for young virile men. This creates a lot of issues and a very unstable society.
