Metal detectors for buses?

Probably something that will be coming, but totally impractical.

Where do people get on buses? Probably at dozens of stops for each route. Where will the detector be?

Ok, put the detector on the bus... do people have to take off jewelry and belts to get on the bus now? who goes through the metal bits to make sure they are safe? who is security? surely not the bus driver...

How about a bus with a laser scanner for any weapons mounted above the door and the scan happens as the bus drives up to the stop. And the laser goes from scanning to death ray if any weapons are detected. LOL
