No same sex cohabitation. Place a male and female in the same house to encourage marriage and procreation. Find your own wife so you can actually produce a child. Mothers take two years off from work to raise their child. (only one)
Collect resources to build houses and work buildings. Invite strays at other villages to join yours. (once you have a home for them, or they get depressed.) Fight bandits, bears, and wolves. Do quests for your people. Build your village into a functional community where the villagers produce everything needed.
Game difficulty is adjustable in most details. As in, turn off hunger, or disable weight so you can carry unlimited materials. 4 seasons per year, with days per season adjustable from 1 to almost a month, I believe. I chose 14 day seasons for extended game life, at the expense of a fast pace. 3 days per season is default.
Single player, and not a shooter. Open world map is large enough that it doesn't feel cramped. Uses elements from several types of games, so is not just a 'city builder'.
Pirate to try it. If it works and you like it fucking pay for it.
With that said, I'll be fucked if I'm giving you tips on good games worth paying for. Go pirate fucking Forza horizon or something woke as fuck. You won't have fun but the developers will get what they deserve.

People make good money giving products away for free. Gamedevs have been known to upload pirated versions of their commercial games. If people like a product, most if not all have no problem paying for it and often times want to support the creator beyond whatever the initial cost of the product is.. i.e. merchandise. There are games I pirated, purchased, and now follow on social media and would drop some good money for a sequel, DLC or merchandise. Eagerly waiting actually. Most creators have figured this out.
