The Middle East is going to be hilarious looking in a century’s time. The oil will have run out or been replaced by then, and thanks to their almost childish profligacy with their current wealth the natives will rapidly revert to their natural state of galloping around on camels and chopping each other’s heads off. But this time they’ll be doing it in the shadow of the Burj Khalifa, that mad looking wall city planned for Saudi, and now maybe even a fucking massive fake moon. If the Mad Max movies had that stuff as a movie set it would’ve stretched the credulity of audiences, but our grandkids might be able to go on safari to see just that.

Basically exactly as I explaimed.
All sold privately, most left undeveloped after GFC and several sinking back into the ocean.

Palm Jumeirah was also sinking at a rate of five millimeters per year.

Hence why no one is building on it.
