Almost lost myself to it. Was in a really dark place 12 years ago. I had just witnessed a friend lose her battle with cancer and it was traumatic. Happened on my birthday, one minute she was standing there laughing the next minute she was on the floor unresponsive. Had to watch EMT try to resuscitate her for twenty minutes. They were unsuccessful. Long story short, I thought I took enough to not wake up. I was wrong. I'm clean now for over a decade. Shit's evil.

Pretty much all of my old friends.
One or two people managed to get clean. Some ended up in jail or permanently fucked up. The majority died one way or another. Mostly in the last 10 years, but that's likely just because of my age.

Something has happened. Plenty of people used drugs and were homeless, but it's like all hope has faded and the lower ends of society are collapsing hard. But I was also friends with a lot of well off jews and they're just as fucked up if not more.

Sounds like you need to hang out with a better crowd. Like I tell my kids, if you hang out with losers that do bad things, pretty soon you will be a loser doing bad things. Choose your friends wisely.

Just one. Barely knew her. She was an old co-workers girlfriend. She was cute. Had a plump ass.

They had been in an awful car accident just a few weeks prior. They certainly weren't saints, and were definitely users, but I honestly kinda felt bad for her when I found out. He was still in the hospital when it happened.

Somewhere around 15. Several were pretty close.

this one girl I know, her deadbeat dad who wasn't in her life. This one chick I worked with in like 2002, OD'd in 2019 and I only know cause her step-grandfather is a client of mine now.

Sounds like you hung out with a lot of fucking losers. Other than 2 losers whom I barely knew, no one. Hopefully you don't hang out with fucking losers anymore.
