It’s Your Own Fault You’re Being Asked To Tip At Self-Checkouts

I can't believe the bullshit smugness of this headline.
"Ohh no, don't blame the companies and their owners, it's YOU the customer who's at fault!"

GTFO with that bullshit.

If I use self checkout, I am doing the work, and I shall tip myself.

I shall also expect at last one hour of wage compensation for services rendered, AND benefits.

Not me. I'll buy the nigger with the "Will fight for food" sign before I give anything while being guilt shamed at the register.

I don't shop at any of these bizarre places, and the only place that asks me to tip for takeout is Jersey Mike's. I usually do because my first job was making sandwiches, and I liked it when people tipped me (a little bit ; we're talking $1 on most orders), but anyways 0 is an option.

Why tip someone for doing their job? Plus if it's the POS card reader screen, then how do you know if your tip is actually going to the workers as opposed to dropping your change in a tip jar.
I only tip cash & no more than $5 - I want to make sure that my money is actually going to the person serving me & it's not to supplement their income, but a small bonus for going out of their way to give me what I want - Pizza & Food Delivery guys get $3 max - Servers at restaurants get $5 max. Same with Uber/cab drivers.

It's a tip. Because I like them and think they do a good job. If you don't like the concept of tipping, well ydy, but to ask why I would leave one is a difficult question to answer.

I'll concede the other point. It is illegal to steal tips, but I certainly have no insight into what goes on behind the counter. To go back to when I was working that job, credit card tips were accounted for at the end of the night along with every other form of payment. Of course, everything was fundamentally on paper at that point.

The tips aren't stolen, but dollars to donuts they ARE included on that employee's W-2. And that's what this is really all about.

TECHNICALLY you have to report all your tips, but when it was all cash, you could simply report enough to say you made minimum wage. There was zero way to prove how much you actually made, so anything beyond that was basically free money.

The kikes at the (((IRS))) don't like that, which is why they make it so easy to tip on non-cash transactions. They can track every single fucking cent and bleed the wagies even more.

This is also why (((they))) keep trying to phase out cash entirely. They tried REALLY hard during convid with the whole "cash shortage" and "coin shortage" bullshit. They'll keep making it easier and easier to swipe a card, scan an app, piss in a jar, whatever, and they'll keep making it harder and harder to use actual cash.

Because cash is private. Cash is untraceable (for the most part), and cash needs no (((middle-man))).

They want you using electronic funds because they want to monitor and control every transaction you make.

Headline is correct. I haven't ever been asked to tip a machine, and that's not because I'm just lucky.

I won't buy from restaurants that want a tip, and whenever things unexpectedly ask for a tip I always put 0%.

Anyone else notice the "would you like to round up to charity?" In every other transaction now?

How much of a kickback do these companies make for this?

I don't get it.

Also, why does it suddenly cost money to get cash back now.

Fine if it costs money it costs money but tell me how much before I hit yes, and then have to cancel the transaction, you filthy shysters.

Hasn't happened to me yet.
