So any plastic burning in a pure oxygen environment becomes as hot and burns as fast as rocket fuel. So all their rubber hoses and plastic anything would have ignited instantly until the oxygen was burned up and since it was a pretty large cabin that might have taken some time. Here's an example of a rocket engine made out of a plain piece of acrylic tubing with nothing added to it and all they do is run pure oxygen through the center of it and light it on fire.

Creating a rocket is simple. Creating one that doesn't explode or light everything else on fire, now that's the hard part.

They were essentially inside a cutting torch. Once the oxygen is turned on for cutting the acetylene fuel can be turned off and the torch continues to cut. The cut metal is the fuel. The acetylene is only to get the metal started burning in the pure oxygen environment. I'm surprised this much is left. A continuously flow of fresh oxygen with good fume evacuation would burn bones and teeth quickly.

An incriminating body is laid atop fire bricks with O2 injected into the space between bricks. What's left of the bricks is pulverized, placed in the manure pile, and spread. The oxygen is refilled at an out-of-town welding supplier using cash.

The suits were not made to be fireproof at all. There's no reason they would have protected them. And once the rubber hoses and things burn through in an instant which would happen in a pure oxygen environment they would be breathing those hot gases almost instantly. Those extremely hot gases would pretty much melt your lungs and hopefully they would die of asphyxiation before they felt too much burning pain but I doubt it.

The Wikipedia page lists the official cause of death as "heart attack" from breathing in that hot poisoned gas.
