Trading light output for longevity. 3W can only produce so many lumens and this is operating way outside of peak efficiency.

They are much more efficient than the bulbs we are allowed to purchase, and they last longer.

You can buy those online. They’re not cheap if you want GE branded. They’re just using an array instead of 4 LEDs and running them at low voltage. Costs more per bulb and they are not more efficient per lumen.
