Here's why

Their immune system had been seperated from biological "risks" created by germs in livestock...when you encounter them everyday it's no big deal you don't even get sick...but if you leave Asia minor and get disconnected from the flora and fauna you grew up around all at once, your genetics (more specifically your immune system) no longer identify a need to "kill off" that germ because it no longer exists, so it takes the immune response "cell" or type it created and files it away in it's memory.

For some reason I can't get into the particulars of because I'm pulling this from memory, if the immune system, say, 1000 years later, encounters a germ that is identical, or almost identical, to the original "germ" the human body will put up 0% resistance against that germ...meaning a normal "cold" virus that would make 10% of the people it comes into contact with have a runny nose...would now turn into a fatally, rapidly spreading disease that has a 100% guarenteed chance of death for anyone possessing that "immune history" passed through the mother's side.

So in reality...was it the White man coming from Europe at that time that caused them to die? technically yes, however to be more specific, it's because they brought livestock over...cattle specifically, anything that infected one of them would have not only killed them quickly, but had the perfect breeding ground to both propogate and spread through close contact, given most tribes lived in fairly tightly designed situations...caring for or carrying a sick person 30 feet would have been enough exposure to kill any of them because it would only take literally 10-20 actual germs to get into that persons system, then 0 defense is mounted and they will definately die.

Have they been here a long time, yea, they are no more "native" to America then "europeans" are native to europe
