Nice. Means you'll have to buy less produce from the kike grocer.

Where's that faggot middlepath? I can't critique this properly without some guidance. It's looks like dirt with shit growing in it.

Good job I guess.

I have lots of things growing at the bottom of the lot. On the side which is where you see the dirt with a few things growing I have other plants growing. On my previous post I put a list of all the things I planted. This afternoon I planted beans. So far the squashes, the carrots, corn, arracache, sweet pepper, curiander, spinach, onions, are growing fine. Fruit trees are still really small, mango, cas guava, guava, tangerine, orange, orange lime, avocado are small but healthy. Watermelon and melon growing also.

Get some Comfrey. Grows everywhere, is edible, medicinal and has many other uses not least of which is soil building/composting. I planted patches around our farm maybe 8 years ago and they have formed mounds of the most nutritious black soil i have seen. It has amazed me how much the other garden/orchard plants have benefited from that addition.
I did experiments growing tobacco this year and the ones with comfrey leaf mulch did much better than the rest.

Going to check on this with the nearby greehouse, first time I hear about this plant but by reading on it, it does seem very useful to have.

Try to get "russian comfrey", its sterile so wont spread by seed and doesn't run. Other varieties may become invasive.

Want to but need to close near the bamboos first, that is where I want to put them, 5 o 6 trees.

Do you use rain catchment for your water supply or do you have municipal water piped in?
I've heard Costa Rica has deep rich soil, whatcha gonna grow?

[ - ] sguevar [op] 0 points 1 yearMay 1, 2023 00:54:57 ago (+0/-0)*

Municipal piped, but where i live when the rainy season starts is a major relief on my water service cost. I do want to install a tank to gather rain water in the future. When hopefully the dollar goes stronger... If that ever happens again...

nice bamboo there, you should check if the shoots are edible, thats some good nutrition there, and by harvesting it every spring, you prevent it from overgrowing your plot.

I haven't check to be honest, I mostly use it to put some protection on the sowing because of my nigger dog... But will check on that later and let you know

I see a hillside crying out for gardening terraces. Good start on the plants.

Is that your bamboo down there? If so, do you know what type it is? I used to have a bamboo nursery with around 40 types, so it catches my eye.

Let me know if you need some hot pepper seeds.

[ - ] sguevar [op] 1 point 1 yearMay 1, 2023 00:57:18 ago (+1/-0)

It is mine as well, money wasn't enough to close all the lot, but I don't know what kind it is.

Thanks for the hot pepper seeds, they are pretty easy to get around here hahaha.

I grow a few fleshy types, but look for one called Goat's Weed. Very thin skin, so it dries easily. Pretty hot without being overpowering. Grows up to 1.5 inches long. Stem and leaves are slightly fuzzy. Pods go from green to black to red.

A sawzall is best for cutting the bamboo culms. After you get it cleaned up, the standard is to take out 1/4 to 1/3 of the oldest culmes each year. Great source of garden poles. You could grow some of the giants in your climate. "bamboo plants costa rica" You have so many great bamboos there.

Looking good, keep on growing! We just picked our first harvest, a few radishes. Not much but rewarding enough to keep going. I'm going to build a keyhole garden next for the little plants like that; maybe a keyhole or terrace would work well on your sloped land?

[ - ] sguevar [op] 1 point 1 yearMay 1, 2023 00:58:26 ago (+1/-0)

It is probable, at the moment money is tight so all I do is use what I have handy to mark where I plant.

[ - ] Endo_Aryan 1 point 1 yearMay 1, 2023 07:55:03 ago (+1/-0)

Oh yeah, same. We're using scraps from around the house. The pig pen is made out of wooden pallets.

[ - ] bobdole9 0 points 1 yearApr 30, 2023 10:43:12 ago (+0/-0)
