Is M855 ammo no longer made?

I was looking to buy more of this round when I came across a statement that M855 5.56 is no longer being manufactured. Then I saw some websites that let me get on a notification list when this round was back in stock. Wot? Anybody know for sure?

I bought some a few months ago. PMC.

I see PMC and Winchester are at least still making it. I bought a few cases of it when I saw the military was developing the 6.8 to defeat armor. I assumed they knew something we don't.

Chinese and Russians have been working on bullet proof head-to-toe armored suits for a while. I'd imagine they're designed to stop M193 minimum specifically. I'd bet the US/DHS has some similar armor the warehouse.

I heard they wanted to ban it but were unsuccessful. I do know that they have been going after production of ammo and gun parts recently.

They wanted to ban it because "muh armor piercing" and "only muh military needs it" and "its designed to kill people"
