Disagree. I don't do GTA online but I did enjoy 5 and Rockstar did a great job with RDR2. What I've noticed is mobs like Square Enix and whoever does Forza keep trying to cram everything else everyone else does into their games and fucking them up instead of just making their own games, Far Cry 5 is a great example of that, gotta have hunting, gotta have this gotta have that, instead trying to walk between places ends up with you getting fucked in the ass every 30 seconds with ambient creature mobs spawning next to you that would not be anywhere near each other raping you then disappearing over the next fucking hill of their "massive open world" meaning instead of "hunting" you're chasing after shit.

Forza Horizon I bought as something a bit different a couple of weeks ago on discount, what I found was "let's do an open world sandbox racing arcade simulator" which is not sandbox because all you can do is sit in your car and drive to your next event, is not an arcade racer because it requires you to fine tune every single part of of your car to keep control of the car and is not a simulator because the whole fine tuning shit doesn't actually mean jack when you rubber band into the lead anyway and all the tracks are the same shit with different corners. That's literally the one game this year I regret paying for at all.

Rockstar actually do do a fucking brilliant job of world building and put a lot of thought into the world they're building, and Bethesda weren't too bad at that either (fuck online only fallout 76 shit) and at least they're mildly moddable later.

Currently playing through death stranding because I picked it up for $25 and liked the look of Control so decided I'd buy that next, it dropped to $15 on steam yesterday so I picked that up and will have a crack at it next.

Will not pay $100+ for any AAA title these douchecanoes want to try and charge you for now at all, that's just fucking bullshit especially with the state of the vast majority of half finished "but we will make it better soon!!" AAA games coming out now but there are a couple of developers I would consider buying on release knowing they at least make a half decent effort on or rape their own reputation.
