Ball believers make quite a few claims about how the Sun couldn't possibly work on the flat earth model. These arguments are usually misrepresentations of what we're saying or misunderstandings of how things like light and the law of perspective work. One of the most popular claims is that the Sun would light up the whole world. This is a misrepresentation of the model. The Sun is local, it is much much closer to the flat plane and much smaller than you're imagining if you think it would light up the whole world. As a thought experiment, imagine you and another person are in a dark, pitch black airplane hangar. The other person is holding a lit lightbulb and starts walking away from you. The light from the lightbulb would recede. You'd be left in darkness, watching the light get smaller and smaller and eventually you would be unable to see it. These visual effects are due to the law of perspective and the inverse square law. Probably the second most popular claim made is that the Sun doesn't change sizes throughout the day. This point is a little more to unravel. Sometimes it observably does change size and sometimes it really doesn't. This is due to 3 things. The Sun a very large object in comparison to you. The Sun is very high up compared to you. And lastly, atmospheric conditions (weather, humidity). Since the Sun is very large in comparison to the range of your vision and so high up already, it looks like it just suddenly disappears when it reaches the range of your vision.
