Maybe if we stopped trying to force a modern, Western lifestyle -- with all the demand from the technology and decadence that comes with it -- on those countries, maybe they would learn to live in greater harmony with nature, as their ancestors did.

Why are we being lectured about environmental responsibility by a bantu mayor whose people have never demonstrated the ability to create and manage a successful civilization (which inherently means managing your natural resources in a way that maximizes sustainability and lessens impact)?
