The thing I always found interesting about those albums is how much the tracks sounded like they could have been on Ten. Also how about one band happening on two vocalists of that distinctiveness in quick succession?
Yes, totally. Andrew Wood was heavily influenced by Queen (obviously by the way he dressed, etc). Evidently on his deathbed his family brought candles and were playing ‘A Night at the Opera,’ when they pulled the plug. He was a cool transitional artist in the sense that he was able to be a rock vocalist of that era that wasn’t a hair metal dude and I’ll always appreciate MLB (and more so Green River, as I’m a huuuuuge Mark Arm fan) for their sound and going against the grain from hair metal. But yes, how random that they went from Andy Wood to Eddie Vedder, both unique and on total different ends of the vocal spectrum!
