Bro that bike was like Yamaha's "look at this new advanced 4-stroke shit we made to compete with 2-stroke 250's." It was great for its time, but those engines are not known for their reliability. Should have gotten a DR-Z 400 man.

The 400/426's are great bikes for little money. Hot tip, move the hot start from the carb to the handlebar. There are kits. They are a bear to start after they were hot. Great smooth power. Tractors. Learn to set the sag and I reccomend a suspension tune up. Your Son will love it.
