Testing new text formatting options

Edit: Ok all should be working now.

You can now name images with the standard markdown formatting and have them load in.

Example:
Talk lol logo

You can highlight text like =this= but with 2 equal signs


Example:
Text highlighting

Add a hashtag # in front of text to create a header. # Like this. ## This, or ### this.

Combine them

If highlighting or header text becomes a way for trolls to cause annoyance I will either limit the ability based on points or create a mod function which removes it from accounts. Maybe both.

There may be issues, post them here if you find any.

I dont see this with your theme. Strange, try a hard refresh with ctrl + f5. Not sure how on mobile.

You'd have to clear your cache from app settings in mobile and your browser has more than likely injected it's own cache control into it.

I didn't want to jump the gun and bug him about it, but old voat had a 'view source' button which showed unformatted text in a post and made it really easy for the user base to pick up on how the markdowns worked without needing to hunt down a guide. It also had the advantage of showing the specific url used in a link without having to open or inspect the link.

Hey I think I'm seeing a bug with this. I've got a section of post titles that look weird, looks like they're italicized. Heres what I'm seeing.

It looks like this only happens to about the bottom half of the posts when sorting by new. Some of the posts that look weird look fine on the home page (the same exact posts)

I'd take a full page ss but I haven't used that extension in a while and its not working right either.

Back in the day I used some library to parse markdown. It was a long time ago, so I can't give you a name to recommend. And it was in Python, so maybe not helpful.

Add "(((" and ")))" to the symbol table and whenever someone uses it it turns the text light blue and maybe adds a star of david next to the text.

I ban for stuff like that without question. The way I look at it: I set up for a large text amount so people could use it if needed. Behavior like that encourages putting a smaller limit. You're the dude putting gum under the desk and forcing the teacher to ban gum chewing for everyone, even responsible gum chewers. Bad analogy but you get the idea. You're the asshole putting graffiti on the wall, etc. I probably should put a smaller limit on it but that's a different topic.
