That's so you can upload / edit/ et cetera photos from your SD card to google photos. You can just not use google photos and [hypothetically] deny access.

Even though we all know that they have access to all of the things all of the time already. But this helps give you the illusion of control. Kind of like voting in federal US elections.

I have more, some I've tried, some no longer work but I know google is always watching. Turn your location off, they're still tracking you but not in as creepy of a way where they show you where you've been and how often.

De Google yourself as much as possible but know that they still own your soul.

Some folks don't realize that wifi gives away your location. Because google's location service is activated on other people's phones, when their phone sees any hotspot, google logs where it saw that hotspot. If your wifi is on, even if your location is off and location services is disabled, the hotspots your phone sees are cross-referenced against their hotspot database, and they know where you are by what hotspots you are near. Same is true for bluetooth. Additionally, the accelerometer and magnetometer sensors in your phone can track your movements even when there is no connection to GPS or towers or wifi or anything.

Seconded on that one (has a simple orange icon with white mountain and sun). Lets you zoom really far in, and is much more responsive than other gallery apps. Lots of configuration even for the free version.

If you don't want Google involved in your Android device balls-deep, 2 options are either source your apps from https://f-droid.org/ or go to the APK library at the internet archive
Do note that the latter will probably disable updates and some apps won't even run because they're hosted on Google's servers.

If you're using Googe Photos to manage your photos then yes, it will need access. It is entirely possible to delete your photos otherwise.

Log out of all jewgle apps, and proceed again. Then stop using jewgle.
