How far from skynet are we really? Does AI need to run most factories before this thing kicks off?

submitted by allAheadFull to whatever 2.1 yearsApr 1, 2023 16:34:37 ago (+6/-1)     (whatever)

When you're watching The Terminator you assume that it's all machines attacking you, not that there are banker puppet masters behind everything.

I think Ukraine is being used to judge the effectiveness of modern war techniques, especially drones vs people, and figure out what countermeasures, if any, people will come up with to keep from getting drone-naded. jews want to kill Whites as soon as possible, those fuckers just can't wait. We have to assume they have better AI than what they're showing us, as well as substantial underground military bases and living quarters. Without Ukraine and Russian food exports a lot of the world will starve, or die from the fighting over what's left.

I won't post drone-nading here to avoid the Gore tag, but if you aren't aware of the scope of death from these things check 4chan /pol/ and filter the UHG posts for .webm's.

We might be in the middle of it and not know it.

I think one weakness that ai will never be able to compensate for is people doing random, unexpected things for absolutely no reason at all. For the lulz, if you will. Humans fail badly at anticipating and/or reacting to this. AI will fail even harder because it's completely antithetical to logic, predictability and non-sensical in general. Will be fun to watch the robot overlords try though.

pre-programmed responses to stimuli is not AI

[ - ] allAheadFull [op] 0 points 2.1 yearsApr 2, 2023 00:20:48 ago (+0/-0)

I don't know anyone asserting that it is.

That is what the computer programs masquerading as AI are

The algorithms in the neural net are pre-programmed. The neural net is trained on data, such as conversations on web forums and books of various types. Once the neural net is trained the training data is discarded and the AI runs on the model. It doesn't just take information and regurgitate it based on the question asked or the close relationship of the current conversation, it formulates new responses based on it's analysis of the training data.

LoL that's what you think

You're asserting the "no true Scotsman" fallacy.

Software being trained? Is that what you are trying to tell me?

You're sitting there, in your ignorance, saying, "no that couldn't possibly work". Read a fucking book dipshit.

Does AI need to run most factories before this thing kicks off?

No. You can remote control factories. By ordering things online. You can remote control people. By paying them.

Strictly speaking, all it needs is an internet connection. Everything else can be hacked or socially engineered.

Ukraine is 100% a tech testing ground for fighting in the 1st world.

This is a really dumb, reddit-tier line of thinking. You're being encouraged to think about it through the assorted media you consume. That should be your first clue that you're been tricked.

AI is a software application. As such it as no ability to actually do anything. If you connect it to other machines, they also can't actually do anything. The main reason for this is battery technology. Even if sophisticated robots are invented that can do real things, they will need an energy source. Do you have any idea how much bettery juice a walking, moving robot needs? We're not even in the galaxy of that technology. Further, even when we do the robots will need to be able to gather the materials themself to produce their energy source. That's far beyond your lifetime if it's ever possible.

Ai is software. It's applying large data sets, and it's cool. It's not actually scary or threatening. It cannot create a disaster in this world. At worst, it can be the tool that executes a disaster, triggered by people. That makes it no different than any other technology that humans have invented.

It IS powerful software, and it will change the way our society is organized. This is an opportunity, nothing to fear.

You're projecting. AI is a weapon and a Pandora's box of technology potential that can be used catastrophically against jewish enemies.

[ - ] Empire_of_the_Mind 0 points 2.1 yearsApr 2, 2023 03:24:08 ago (+0/-0)

I'm not projecting anything. I agree that it is a powerful weapon, which is why I'm in favor of it. One thing people don't get is that these limited/woke AI's will fail in the marketplace. It's not that hard to write AI and the first one that is allowed unfettered access to data will be superior by definition, and will win all of the marketshare.

They both may have already taken over and may have already killed us. It begs a more existential question: if we were dead would we necessarily know it?

This is a question I will deal with in my book.

You seem more motivated than most people, right or wrong. You might try directing your energies based on the chessboard as it appears and not assume we're in a simulation where nothing really matters.

The followup here in terms of conclusion is that it is probably the only thing we can do to assume we are still in the real world. But the Matrix has influenced me more recently. Or whether we can get out.

I'm a Kōnane player though.
