Is an iron cross worth $185 from a registered dealer?

A friend in Canada asked me if I wanted this instead of cash he owes me lol
So it’s in Canadian dollars. Surprised they’d even be allowed to sell that stuff there. Lol

Edit: opted for a first class. Just comes as a pin on with no ribbon. Issued 1939.

Depends on when it was issued. I think there were some Canadians that were awarded Iron Crosses in Afghanistan. Regardless, 250 seems way high without any provenance.

Exactly @Ozark...without a "letter of provenance", in most cases, artifacts are deemed fraudulent or stolen...my brother has "pre-Columbian" artifacts that surfaced after a big earthquake in Honduras (mid 90s) and without the "letter" they're unsellable, and he's got lots.

If he is looking for a buyer, let me know.

From what I’ve seen, provenance if significance seems to go for more,

[ - ] White_Pride_Cis 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 2, 2023 00:18:47 ago (+0/-0)

What in the fuck are you talking about?

[ - ] con77 5 points 2.2 yearsApr 1, 2023 15:28:45 ago (+5/-0)

I would think so.
Does it have any provenance?
Who won it?
Who awarded it?

[ - ] 3Whuurs [op] 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 1, 2023 19:24:27 ago (+0/-0)

No provenance.
From what I’ve seen, the ones with verified provenance go for $1000s

good chinese fakes after 2018

[ - ] 3Whuurs [op] 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 2, 2023 14:49:27 ago (+0/-0)

Why 2018?
Apparently the magnet test is reasonably reliable for these.

Those were awarded like pervitin during WW2. It was a good moral boosting policy. Just about everyone in the kriegsmarine earned one. It's a cool piece of history, and it could be that valuable to you if you like that sort of thing. Personally, in this economy I'd rather have the cash. If it was an authentic flag or one of the many knives that were issued I'd take it.

I ended up going for a iron cross 1st class. They only came with a pin instead of a ribbon, and a cool little box.
Stamped 1939 on it so decent chance it was issued (if Infact real) before they became more common.

I’m not a collector so I’d only ever want 2-3 pieces of this history, so it was worth while.

It's worth around a dollar to me. What is it worth to you?

If it's as good as cash, have the debtor sell it and pay you with the proceeds.

Here’s a little more info on it. Again, the price is pretty reasonable. I’ve got 5 of them, including one screw back. https://www.sabremilitaria.com/post/ww2-german-iron-cross-genuine-or-fake

Nice, I went fir the 1st class that came with a pin instead of the ribbon. Issued 1939

[ - ] White_Pride_Cis 1 point 2.2 yearsApr 1, 2023 18:06:10 ago (+1/-0)

I used to be in charge of several WW2 collecting communities. The price isn’t bad, IF it’s real. A magnet is a good way to tell if it is real or not.

[ - ] 3Whuurs [op] 1 point 2.2 yearsApr 1, 2023 19:32:54 ago (+1/-0)

Highly magnetic.

Then you got a good deal. These will only continue to go up in value, as more are lost each year, and people realize that Hitler was the good guy. They haven’t made anymore since 1945, so I would take this as fair trade.

The guy had some huge vintage Swazi flags that looked so killer.
A couple with cool white tassels

[ - ] White_Pride_Cis 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 2, 2023 08:11:51 ago (+0/-0)

Photos? My kreigsmarine flag was $1200 and it is 80cmx135

[ - ] 3Whuurs [op] 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 2, 2023 14:33:03 ago (+0/-0)

It was apparently sone antique gun show where this 1 based guy had all the sweet Nazi gear. My friend said he had by far the most people at his table lol.
He got help unfolding the 1 flag for a picture but didn’t u fold the much cooler old one with the tassels.

Those prices are all Canadian, so like -about 35%. And there’s some reproductions in that pile of medals.

[ - ] White_Pride_Cis 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 2, 2023 21:57:15 ago (+0/-0)

Oh man he had some good stuff! One of his medals looked sus like 4th link down, but seeing it in person is the best way to tell. I would take the medal personally. Or the HJ knife

[ - ] White_Pride_Cis 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 2, 2023 22:07:13 ago (+0/-0)

That boot knife is worth a pretty penny. I only have a couple of SS items, because there’s so many fakes.

[ - ] PrincessRobotBubblegum 1 point 2.2 yearsApr 1, 2023 15:44:49 ago (+1/-0)

I won a Lady Death action figurine at a comic store raffle; but i opened the box to play with it, and lost the box.

If you are that weirdo motherfucker that I think you are, you probably left it in your ass after a vigorous night of flat earth posting.

[ - ] Sleazy 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 1, 2023 21:11:19 ago (+0/-0)

That's not iron, that is some fabric and thread

[ - ] 3Whuurs [op] 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 2, 2023 00:41:59 ago (+0/-0)

Actually it’s real iron lol.

[ - ] coldsoak 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 1, 2023 17:09:45 ago (+0/-0)

Don't be surprised when the original Herr shows up in the middle of the night to reclaim it.

[ - ] zongongo 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 1, 2023 17:01:42 ago (+0/-0)

I passed up an awesome Nazi era belt buckle with swastika and GOT MITT UNS.
In pristine condition, authentic ,
$180.00
The medal is nice. I'd rather have 7 oz of silver bullion at this point. Nice medal though.

[ - ] 3Whuurs [op] 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 1, 2023 19:35:42 ago (+0/-0)

This guy had a bunch of daggers and huge flags.
Assuming he’s honest and they were legit, he had plenty of reproductions to.
I$ only want a couple pieces, but 2-3 small things might be nice. This thing and a Reichmark would be cool.
Other then that I’d probably just want 1 item with certified provenance.

[ - ] frankenham 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 1, 2023 16:09:30 ago (+0/-0)

I came across some nazi memorabilia in a thrift store about a year ago. Was pretty surprised to see it, and was tempted to drop $120 on the pin but decided not to.

Registered?

[ - ] 3Whuurs [op] 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 1, 2023 19:36:25 ago (+0/-0)

Registered or certified, the room was loud when I was getting the run down.

[ - ] germ22 0 points 2.2 yearsApr 1, 2023 15:35:32 ago (+0/-0)

As a collectible, only you can decide if it's worth it to you. It's not edible, it doesn't heat your home,...
Maybe there is resale value, then look it up on ebay and see.
