Seriously thinking about getting a heavy guide rod for my glock. It seems like it's going embue my gun with magic.

The problem is I haven't even shot this gun yet, and I feel like i'm sliding down a slippery slope. I have bought so many guns and ammo in the past 7 or 8 months - I have to stop. I'm at like $8,000 YIKES!

what do you like about the sig p365x besides the trigger?

ergonomics... it fits my hand like the grip was molded from it.. its a doublestack with a single stack size/profile. love the fuck out of that gun. ive owned my share of concealment pieces and its by far my fav so far.

The reset is as long as a horse. Terrible, gritty trigger imo.

This is like eating out of a dumpster at McDonald's

Semi auto loaders are more image than practicality...they seize up in severe cold and pile up in extreme heat (90°f 30°c), it's a crap shoot when it comes to 100% efficiency...from my "exceptional" experience with firearms and explosives the best "go-to piece" with 100% efficiency and effectiveness is the 7rnd S&W model 686 357 mag...forget the Dirty Harry shit .44mag, the .357mag, particularly with "hot loads", which the M686 handles well, is an immediate stopper minus the xtra weight, unless you're in grizzly or polar bear territory...hey I love my Berettas, Rugers, Colts, Browning SAPs but when faced with an adverse situation or stagnated for a lengthy period of time in an adverse environment the last thing I have to worry about is the efficiency of my sidearm...but have fun with your Glock anyways.

I was looking at the magnums and the loose parts when reloading have me afraid i'll lose something, plus I'm wiping off the oil on it with my fingers. I also like that, for now, I'm avoiding the risk of injury from the blast coming out the side of the cylinder.

“stagnated for a lengthy period of time “

Recommended lube, or none?

Glock is obscenely overrated, it's a clumsy piece and doesn't form to grip like a Beretta or Ruger 1911...feed issues are too common during rapid fire and there's no structural forgiveness with "hot rnds"...I fucking blew up 2 of them, the other one sits in the safe and it can stay there.

[ - ] iThinkiShitYourself [op] 0 points 2 yearsApr 1, 2023 13:07:42 ago (+0/-0)

hot rnds

what's that?

Of all things, that is the one that I have yet to upgrade on my Glock 19. I grabbed a Magpul mag-well, steel tritium sights, extended magazine eject and an enhanced slide release, but it still has the OE guide rod and spring.

I think it's a good idea to have a new one or an upgraded aftermarket one on hand and at the ready, for repair purposes and troubleshooting. I have had a stock Glock 17 guide rod break on us as we were shooting. So I know it does happen, but it should still last a good long while.

If it's an EDC gun, switch it out with a stainless steel one, put 500 rounds through it and if it's good, clean and carry.

try this one and let me know how it works.

Eh, that's super expensive for a guide rod. I'd buy the Lone Wolf brand, iirc it's like ~$25.

For a gen 5 pistol? I don't think they even have it

https://lonewolfdist.com/parts/guide-rods/

Says gen 4 and 1-3

Wow, yeah, I didn't know that was something they changed. Not only does Glock not innovate, they changed something that didn't need to be changed partially nerfing compatibility for no reason. At the same time they implemented a piss-poor example, probably the worst in the market, optics mounting system, while retaining the most God-awefull PLASTIC sights with the most retarded aiming convention in the world. Glock continues to drop the ball.

[ - ] iThinkiShitYourself [op] 0 points 2 yearsApr 6, 2023 14:22:29 ago (+0/-0)

I kind of wonder why the red dot companies don't put the red dot on the bottom of the device and the battery on top to get that dot as close to the barrel as possible, but they don't.

What could be improved with the optic mounting system?

[ - ] Love240 0 points 2 yearsApr 6, 2023 16:08:07 ago (+0/-0)

The mounting system is complete garbage. The plates crack, optics fly off guns. You have to buy that POS system separately too.

8k? this is 4 guns with ammo.... Maybe 5. But 5 guns is not so much. Safe hold many guns.

[ - ] iThinkiShitYourself [op] 0 points 2 yearsApr 1, 2023 13:09:14 ago (+0/-0)

8k is a lot of money to spend for anyone on guns. I have never seen anyone else do this, and I don't want to hear your stories. downplaying denied.

[ - ] MaryXmas 0 points 2 yearsApr 1, 2023 14:14:26 ago (+0/-0)

I would rather have a few name brands than a bunch of hi points.

[ - ] PeckerwoodPerry -1 points 2 yearsMar 31, 2023 21:40:04 ago (+0/-1)

You probably should sell that Glock. Just saying, if you spent that much on munitions, you definitely wasted your money on that nigger blaster. Only thing you need is a hi point.40 carbine. That's the definition of problem solving.

[ - ] iThinkiShitYourself [op] 0 points 2 yearsMar 31, 2023 21:47:34 ago (+0/-0)

glock has all kinds of education and aftermarket stuff though. plus mods. none of my other pistols have that including the xd40

also i DID avoid buying a glock for 13 years because of nigger music, and I told them that at the GUN store where people buy guns for killing people because that's what GUNS are for and 2a is meant to protect.
