It kind of looks like this whole "15 minute city" concept is a trick to cause people to reflexively embrace modern global homo.
As a "pre-cure" plan it's obviously flawed and ridiculously dystopian. But our ancestors lived in 15 minute villages for most of history, and it was a good life.
For quite some time, a group among us that enjoys sharing the bounty of our work has pushed us to increase our numbers, so the amount shared grows as large as possible. Now that they don't need our mass numbers anymore, many of us still want to cling to the global homo we've become accustomed to.
