Macron doing magic with his luxury $85,000 wristwatch

On Friday, during an interview on French tv, Macron was asking for sacrifices from the French people, explaining that the state has no money to send people to retirement at 62 years age. Then he realized he is wearing a €80,000 wristwatch, making it disappear under the table.

An official response from the Élysée Palace is that the watch is totally not expensive, just has some unique personalized dial with the coat of arms of the presidency, so basically nothing.
The watch allegedly banged loudly against the table, and so Macron removed it to prevent the noise from being picked up by sensitive microphones...

Supposedly, he was wearing a Bell & Ross BRV-192. That’s barely a luxury watch. Bell & Ross makes much cooler and more expensive stuff. That watch is like $2400. Not super expensive. Trump has much more expensive watches. $40K Pateks and such.

Trump isn't claiming there's no money. $2,400 is absofuckinglutely a luxury watch you fucking twit. Do you have a collection of them? Casio's, Timex and the watch you get at Target, these are standard watches. Apple, Samsung, Fossil are luxury watches. Anytime they call it a Chronograph, its a fucking luxury item.

I didn’t say it wasn’t a luxury watch, I was saying it wasn’t super-expensive. $2000 is the absolute bottom end of the luxury watch market. It is not absurd for the President of a 1st World country to have a nice watch. You may not be familiar with me, but I created the wristwatches board on here. I have 6 watched that are more expensive than that, one that is as expensive, and several lesser watches. I’m not a President, I’m not even a Supervisor at the moment. I’m just a line worker, yet I have a watch collection worth much more.

I can't really be that mad that they gave the President some sort of special watch. They're presenting as the leader of the country, so it's at least partially the responsibility of the country to dress them.
