Need to get me a telescope. Where I live, I don't have so much light contamination from the city and I can see so many constellations and shooting stars that I couldn't in the past when living in an urban area.

9pm west central Florida Venus is directly above a crescent moon that has both edges pointed up

Funny.
I was star gazing last night with my daughter.

Out west about 20deg up around ceti stars.

A star light up for half a second then was gone. About as bright as the brightest stars.

1 min later it blinked again.

This went on as long as I watched.

No idea what it was. Never seen anything like it.

Good thought. Impossible.

Geosynchronous is a long way out and even iss wasn't as bright as this star flash.
