Tips regarding 'loud' appliances and foot comfort

On the rare occasions I run the (very loud) dishwasher, I pair the task with vacuuming at the same time so that I'm doing two loud tasks at once to get them over with. I put in foam ear plugs while I do this to minimize the annoyance.

I don't recommend blaring music in headphones to combat the noise because you'll definitely create long-term ear damage.

There have been times when I've started the dishwasher as I'm heading out the door to run errands but this is risky because you ought to be home in case there's a leak or problem where you'll need to stop the machine before things get worse. I know this isn't a common issue but you never know!

About foot comfort: I have a pair of sneakers I wear indoors only for housework. It's made a world of difference because my feet are way less aggravated by the end of my chores than if I were barefoot or in socks. Sneakers are so cheap in thrift stores now, you could pick up a comfy pair just for the home. Remember to treat yourself to cushy socks as well (and perhaps gel inserts) to help you last longer on your feet.

Chime in if you have similar tips!
