That's very antisemitic

Thank you!

That is fantastic.

I am deeply envious.

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 5 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 00:09:21 ago (+5/-0)

It’s a good feeling.

[ - ] lord_nougat 3 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 00:29:02 ago (+3/-0)

Mine will be paid off soonish. At this rate, maybe 2 decades or so. But the plan is to sell and move to a free state, once we can get about a mil for the place. We were getting so close before brandon tanked the economy, but with strategic remodeling, we could pull it off; the neighbors did, and that house ended up needing tons of work.

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 5 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 00:32:20 ago (+5/-0)

That’s a good plan, I reached the point where I was not going to move anymore. So, I focused on paying it off early. I stuck it to the bankers a teensy bit by paying it off early

[ - ] lord_nougat 2 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 00:40:20 ago (+2/-0)

That makes it even better. We got a pretty good interest rate, so at least there's that.

[ - ] Clubberlang 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 09:09:12 ago (+0/-0)

Did your social credit err uhh umm credit score take a hit by paying it off early.

This is a jew tactic to keep you in debt.

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 17:06:44 ago (+0/-0)

I’m watching my credit score, it hasn’t updated yet. I’ll post here what it actually does to my social credit err uhh credit score…

It will take the better part of a year for it to reflect in your credit score.

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 0 points 1 yearApr 29, 2023 09:17:53 ago (+0/-0)

Yes, it took a 30 point hit. The reasons where your open mortgage accounts decreased by one and an open account was closed. These are negatives is why the total score decreased.

[ - ] 2Drunk 9 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 00:04:41 ago (+9/-0)

When do you start on the killdozer? jews always find a way to take it from you.

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 9 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 00:07:31 ago (+9/-0)

I’m still vulnerable to the tax collector. Killdozer is always on the table.

[ - ] NoRefunds 6 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 01:02:50 ago (+6/-0)

Kill dozer is like Hitler. It didn't kill any jews.

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 3 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 01:06:19 ago (+3/-0)

Maybe just one killdozer, the banker does not fear you not paying your mortgage but when we all don’t pay, then the sun rises bright and beautiful.

No longer have to answer to the banker.

Stop paying land tax on your paid off land and see what happens. A lot of armed tiny hats will start kvetching around your property.

[ - ] BushChuck 0 points 1 yearApr 29, 2023 10:28:09 ago (+0/-0)

If you had a mortgage on the property you agreed to pay property taxes as part of your mortgage contract.

I haven't paid property taxes in years, but I've never had a mortgage on this property. They sent me one demand letter, said they were going to auction my house. I asked them to provide legal proof of my obligation to pay them anything.

Never heard back from them.

[ - ] GrayDragon 4 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 00:18:19 ago (+4/-0)

Always good to hear a Goat accomplish something powerful. Fuck debt. And congratulations!

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 1 point 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 00:21:41 ago (+1/-0)

Thank you, debt free was the ultimate goal. If I had to do it all over again I would have saved more and debt’d less. Fuck debt.

[ - ] zr855 3 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 00:45:53 ago (+3/-0)

Saving is terrible. Never do it. Inflation eats the hell out of your savings. Invest in something.

You'd be better off always buying a bigger house every x years and then finally selling that final large house, pocketing the cash and outright buying a smaller house. That is as long as you can handle the maintenance and niggers don't invade your neighborhood.

Buying newer middle class houses with lots of white neighbors usually results in property values going up as long as you don't buy in the peak of a sellers market.

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 3 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 00:49:37 ago (+3/-0)

Sound advice for normal times. After this coming crash, opportunities are going to be everywhere for those who saved and are not in debt at this time. It’s going to be interesting.

[ - ] AmazingFlightLizard 5 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 01:01:13 ago (+5/-0)

Invest in metals.

Like brass. And lead.

[ - ] Taxedtv 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 09:30:51 ago (+0/-0)

Yeah then take what need back from boomers who collected government pensions their entire lives.

[ - ] TheBigGuyFromQueens 2 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 08:42:42 ago (+2/-0)

I own a tiny apartment that I paid off after my 37th Birthday. I received no money at all from family for the down payment. Paid everything off entirely on my own from working peasant jobs.

[ - ] paul_neri 2 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 06:37:43 ago (+2/-0)

Dreams can come true - even American ones.

To be a bit of a killjoy...you still need an income to pay the rates, charges (electricity etc), maintenance costs. But at least you'll be able to spend money on these outgoings and not on a mortgage. Good luck.

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 12:53:24 ago (+0/-0)

Not having a mortgage really transforms your finances. As long as I stay out of debt things look rosy even in these troubling financial times.

[ - ] carnold03 2 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 06:06:22 ago (+2/-0)

How much do you have to pay in annual property taxes?

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 12:57:54 ago (+0/-0)

It’s not much when I break it down to a monthly payment to myself for tax day. Roughly $400 a month. Including home insurance in my area.

[ - ] carnold03 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 21:22:14 ago (+0/-0)

Interesting and how much do you spend on home energy and vehicle fuel a month?

[ - ] Rowdybme 2 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 04:13:05 ago (+2/-0)

My house was paid for in cash. Now it's worth triple in the last 5 years and I have to pay 10k in taxes every year.

[ - ] Leveraction 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 13:00:50 ago (+0/-0)

Right.
At what point is enough property tax

[ - ] xmasskull 2 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 00:54:32 ago (+2/-0)

Did you burn the mortgage papers as per tradition?

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 2 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 00:59:01 ago (+2/-0)

I was thinking backyard bbq and a mortgage burning. But guess what! It’s all digital now, I paid it, then the lien on the property was removed electronically, done. No mortgage, no paper to burn. Doh! I could burn my pc but it just wouldn’t be the same.

[ - ] xmasskull 2 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 01:01:58 ago (+2/-0)

Congrats anyways, you ARE living the dream!!

[ - ] o0shad0o 1 point 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 06:50:22 ago (+1/-0)

Ummm... I wouldn't trust that the lien is gone. Maybe I'm old-fashioned but if I were you I'd check with the county recorder.

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 13:00:32 ago (+0/-0)

Guarantee I will follow up, I’m paranoid that way.

VA loan?

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 1 point 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 12:33:30 ago (+1/-0)

No, a regular loan, for me VA Loans weren’t really a good deal, unless you’re a first time buyer with no credit history or a low credit score then it’s a good thing if you qualify.

[ - ] NoRefunds 1 point 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 09:32:34 ago (+1/-0)

How long did it take you? Did you pay off early?

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 12:50:38 ago (+0/-0)

I paid it off 20 years early but it’s a refinance of another loan so in total I paid off a 30 year loan 9 years early.

[ - ] Leveraction 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 13:00:01 ago (+0/-0)

Except for those prooerty taxes that are never paid off. And your insurance.

[ - ] dulcima 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 10:33:30 ago (+0/-0)

Owning a home seems impossible.

[ - ] SilentByAssociation 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 07:33:37 ago (+0/-0)

What's the next step? Is there a way to get rid of property taxes? A land patent, perhaps?

[ - ] Portmanure [op] 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 12:36:46 ago (+0/-0)

I don’t see anyway out of it. You can never truly “own” your home with taxes and HOA fees (if you live in one) but for me it’s so low I could collect bottles and recycle and make the tax payments if I had too…

[ - ] SilentByAssociation 0 points 1.1 yearsMar 23, 2023 15:19:34 ago (+0/-0)

Sometimes it's just not worth the cost.

We're all probably on someone else's (or something else's) balance sheet somewhere...
