Yeah, that's pure horseshit. Moving a large spacecraft around is going to need levels of energy that would be easily seen by your average back-yard astronomer hobbyist.

Especially anything capable of star travel. Which you would probably use a small to medium sized fleet for anyways, for various reasons.

There is no stealth in space.
