Surveillance camera man did a social experiment where he walked around obviously recording people. When they became uncomfortable he pointed out that they are recorded everywhere they go constantly. Needless to say there was massive triggering. His videos are widely censored

I'd like to point out that if it's a cordless angle grinder (or even a gas-powered saw (i did not enable audio)) means there's a high probability its case, handle, and trigger are made of plastic. Also being a cordless tool, it does not offer a path to ground through the tool itself. Also, if you are wearing rubber-soled shoes like most people in an urban environment like that would, they provide around 600v insulation from ground (assuming dry and relatively clean shoes). Additionally, there's not going to be more than 120v or 220v in that pole. 120 tickles and 220 is a little more dangerous (with both hands on the tool you'd have to be standing on one bare foot for the current to travel up your arm and down through your heart to kill). And all that is unlikely to happen because if the cutting wheel makes contact with the conductor inside the pole, and the pole being metal and grounded itself, it will short-circuit through the cutting wheel into the pole and trip the service breaker.

Disclaimer: I'm not saying it's safe to do what's in the video. I'm simply evaluating the safety in this particular video (the danger level is low).

I understand. However, I'm not in the habit of courting danger that can be accounted for and prevented before hand, however minor it may appear at first. Especially with electricity, considering my history with it and all.

For future would-be adventurers, I would merely suggest some nice rubber gloves, a face-cover, good boots with rubber soles, and a safety/lookout. And at least attempt to not hit the live wires.

Really doubtful if the pole has been installed in like the last 30 years. We don't run 480v directly anymore, and we got a lot better at keeping rats and other shit from chewing insultation. It would be practically impossible not to hit wires anyway, since they tend to be pulled towards the side where the access panel is.
