I used to hate welding aluminum, especially when it was 1/8" or thinner. Fine line between too fast or not fast enough, too little amperage or too much. Burnthroughs were usually impossible to fix.

Oh, I'm going to have some fun with that soon enough. Gotta practice on aluminum cans first.
I got some 'heat shielding', gonna make a card-stock template and cut the shielding to fit and hopefully tack it into shape without blowing through too many times...
Gonna need all the help and patience I can get.

Uses fancy crater fill option. Doesn't fill crater. Those welds look like shit, as well.
