Because science is really made up of stories, every experiment or study is a tale of a set of people who perform certain actions to see what would happen, what they did and whether or not the outcome had conformed to their expectations.
The only science I believe in is that of which can be observed, measured and repeated by other peers, all peers and most importantly myself. Whether they call themselves scientists or not is regardless, we are all capable of performing scientific experiments and coming to our own conclusions.
Simply regurgitating theory or math without backing up said claims with verifiable, unbiased testing is not science, that is religion.
Our problem is that nobody wants to learn or think for themselves. It is much easier to copy and paste the theories of other "experts" without having any clue about what they are talking about fundamentally. This leads to science becoming a dogmatic religion with devout followers based on theoretical scripture.
This becomes very obvious when talking about subjects like space, a place where nobody has been, nobody will ever get there.
Nobody will ever have the ability to prove that any claims by NASA or other government agencies are legit as there is no way to perform scientific experiments on their claims. We have to believe in what they say based on faith in the experts. No different to the climate hoax. No different to the covid hoax and no different to the holohoax.
