That's fairly easy to achieve though. Having your interior look nice is apparently a challenge for Asian mfrs. And Tesla.
A barebones vehicle with a turbocharged engine will feel fairly quick these days. They make a lot of power compared to the past. Just most vehicles are far too heavy.
My first Civic had 110 HP or so out of 1.5L or so. That size motor today could be easily tuned to 200 HP for like an Si model. Probably less for mass market, but it would still feel quicker than old SOHC VTEC friend.
The current SI model is a 1.5 liter, and makes 210 in stock form. Unfortunately, the rod bolts, and head bolts aren't up to the task of much more. Upgrading that would probably let you take it to around 330 whp before you need pistons and rods. Pretty easy to do with a Type R turbo, injector and intercooler swap.
