I always liked "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "James and the Giant Peach", but I didn't realize the writer was an honest and brave man.
Quote from the linked "Time" article: "Despite Dahl publicly admitting he was anti-Semitic in an interview shortly before his death at age 74—and the existence of a number of reports of his alleged misogyny and racism—for a long time, it seemed that the immense popularity of his books and their accompanying adaptations overshadowed concerns regarding his reputed prejudices."
EDIT--didnt realize I linked the story right into my title. My apologies.
