I went to a busy intersection last year with a sign that basically said this

I carry pepper gel, a 9mm, and sometimes a knife/tazer/blunt object when I do it.

Next time position some doers a block or two down each direction, who are 'totally unassociated with you'. Equip them with whatever best fits the challenges. Use cheap radios instead of your phone.
