Why don’t you (as in Americans, not you personally) organise parties further to the right then? The excuse always seems to be that third parties just aren’t viable in the US’ FPTP system and it ultimately only helps your opponents by splitting the vote on your side, but this is short term thinking and misses the point imho. By taking votes, or threatening to take votes, off the big party on your side you force that big party to move in the direction you want them to. This works very well if you only hold a small number of policies on which you are strongly focussed. Farage did this in the U.K. and they also have a FPTP system. Maybe just pick one state, focus hard on building something there first and go from there.
