How is this considered a hate crime? It's an act of protest and freedom of speech because it was HER flag.
People can burn American flags in our country and not get arrested.

I could have sworn that burning flags was a totally cool and peaceful thing to do just a year or so ago, and everyone who burned flags got set free without prosecution immediately to go do it again, on the rare occasion that they somehow got arrested to begin with...
